The City of Santa Rosa is pleased to announce that applications are now available for the Community Advisory Board’s (CAB) 2017-18 Community Improvement Grant (CIG) Program.

The CIG Program is an annual grant program that provides an opportunity for Santa Rosa residents and organizations to fund neighborhood or community-based projects. Grants of up to $5,000 per project are awarded to fund a variety of community improvement projects throughout Santa Rosa.

What can the money be used for? Projects such as community events, neighborhood block parties, public art projects, and more can be funded. Each project must have clear neighborhood and/or community support, and must have a carefully developed, reasonable and realistic budget. Additionally, each applicant must provide a financial contribution that matches the grant amount applied for.

Who may apply? Nonprofits, neighborhood associations, homeowner associations, service clubs, community organizations and schools are just a few of the types of groups who may apply for a grant. Grant awards are not limited to established organizations - any size group of community members or residents who are interested in improving their neighborhoods may also apply.

What are examples of past funded projects? Past awards include public art projects, the creation of community gardens, youth and law enforcement soccer tournaments, neighborhood meetings to address homelessness, community training on mental health issues and suicide prevention, and the creation of a tool library.

The deadline to submit an application is July 31, 2017 by 5:00pm. Applications have been included in this email. To access the grant application online, along with instructions, please visit the Community Improvement Grants webpage at http://srcity.org/2444/Community-Improvement-Grants.
