6th Street Studio Organization The Studio is the 6th Street Playhouse's home for educational theater! We strive to engage learners of all ages, abilities, and skill-levels. We believe that learning and creating should be enjoyable and accessible to everyone, and we therefore promise to meet every student where they’re at in order to help them shine their brightest. In addition to offering on-site classes and production experiences year-round, we also partner with local schools to provide theater arts enrichment programs to families who might otherwise not be able to afford them!

After School Play In Clay Organization ART STRENGTHENS COMMUNITY! Children have stories to tell that may be too hard or too abstract to express in verbal ways but can be communicated through artistic expression, through clay.  Our program is aligned with The California Arts Standards for Visual Arts.  We understand that social emotional learning and holistic health practices are necessary in providing transformative, educational experiences. We bring process based learning into your classroom, allowing children to create in ways that are meaningful to them.  We understand that teaching art through other artists is a great way to learn so we hire local artists to bring clay and other art mediums to your school. Our goal is to provide the tools in art to assist in the development of problem solving and critical thinking skills in a fun and creative learning environment.   All artists in the program are fully vetted to your school district's requirements. All students are given instruction by local artists, using tools appropriate to each medium. Art Escape Organization Our founders imagined a dynamic environment where people of all ages could learn and create through a wide range of arts programs that focus on the diversity and creativity of Sonoma Valley.  We are pleased to state that since our founding in 2012, over 18,000 students have attended our visual art exploration programs, the majority of which return to engage in additional activities. Many of our students also return as instructors, passing on the Art Escape creative legacy to a new generation. As part of the greater  Sonoma Valley art community, we are proud to partner with local schools and art non-profits to foster creativity, skills development and civic responsibility through community engagement. Artstart Organization Artstart provides job training in the arts for Sonoma County youth while creating public art. We offer month-long paid art apprenticeships in which young artists ages 14 to 21 are mentored by professional artists to work on commissioned projects including murals, mosaics, park benches and more. Apprentices gain work experience in professional public art practice and learn transferable job skills while beautifying their community. Long term paid internships are also available through our partnership with Petaluma People's Services.

AV Film Organization AVFilm delivers California state standards-based film and media arts training to more than 1,000 Sonoma County students annually. Bridget Palmer Individual Bridget Palmer has been specializing in children’s theater classes, camps, and productions for over 20 years.  She directed Santa Rosa Children’s Theater from 2007-2021. In 2016, she co-founded  A Theater For Children, a community theater company specializing in shows for young audiences. Miss Bridget has worked in school settings as a Drama teacher in numerous locations and joined Luther Burbank Center for the Arts as a Teaching Artist in 2019. Miss Bridget weaves her love of dance, costumes, nature, and singing into her work whenever she can. Most of all, she loves to help kids find their voice and courage, and to develop imagination, empathy, and collaboration skills. She is so happy that she gets to play with hundreds of children each year and loves the excitement of performance projects which culminate within 6-10 sessions. Miss Bridget has extensive training as a children's theater director. She grew up acting on the stage, studied Theater as an undergraduate,  and pursued advanced studies in Theater Directing at UC Berkeley. She also completed the LBC’s Kennedy Center Teaching Artist professional training, as well as several other Arts Integration professional development trainings related to Drama, Movement, and Storytelling.  Miss Bridget helps children become high performers through acting-based activities. Miss Bridget also loves to laugh and spontaneous creativity, so she created 6th Street Improv, an adult comedy improv company, and ran it at the 6th Street Playhouse from 2008-2013, so she could perform and bring more laughter to her community. Miss Bridget also loves writing for actors. In 2018, she wrote her first play for children:  Alex & The Magic Staff, with an anti-bullying theme. She is currently working on her second play for the stage, The Good Enough Girl, and a screenplay called Amazing Grace about a teen environmental activist on the Gulf coast fighting to protect her community from plastic pollution.

California Poets In The Schools Organization

California Poets in the Schools’ vision is to enable youth in every California county to discover, cultivate and amplify their own creative voices through reading, analyzing, writing, performing and publishing...POETRY!! When students learn to express their creativity, imagination, and intellectual curiosity through poetry, it becomes a catalyst for learning core academic subjects, accelerating emotional development and supporting personal growth. Our Poet-Teachers help students become adults who will bring compassion, understanding, and appreciation for diverse perspectives to the issues which their communities face.

California Poets in the Schools develops and empowers a multicultural network of independent Poet-Teachers, who bring the many benefits of poetry to youth throughout the State. As a membership network, we offer opportunities for professional development, peer learning and fundraising assistance for Poet-Teachers in California. We also cultivate relationships with school districts, foundations, and arts organizations which can fund and support our members’ professional practices.

Cazadero Music Camp Organization Cazadero Music Camp brings the love of music and learning to youth. We provide a nurturing, inspirational environment for young musicians ages 10-18. For more than 60 years, Cazadero has offered a dynamic music education program that strikes a thoughtful balance between in-depth music education and carefree summer camp fun. Caz is set on 33 acres near the Russian River in Sonoma County where young musicians learn together under a canopy of spectacular redwood trees. Our vision is to bring the transformative Caz experience to as many youth as possible. Combining music and nature in a truly unique setting, young musicians develop a love of music which lasts a lifetime. Charles M. Schulz Museum Organization Each year, the Schulz Museum provides hands-on art, cartooning, animation, and science programs to children in Sonoma County and beyond. The Museum reaches children with interactive day-long and week-long camps and classes, as well as field trips, classroom programs, and our school-wide “Peanuts Naturally” festival for local schools. The Charles M. Schulz Museum’s youth programs are tailored to student needs and include free days for families with children with sensory needs, Museum tours with sign language interpretation, and a special tactile tour for low-vision and blind visitors. It is the intention of the Schulz Museum to provide experiences that make every child feel just as special as the rest of the Peanuts Gang, and that means being accessible and inclusive to people of all abilities, backgrounds, and income levels. Thirty- three percent of the children reached by the Schulz Museum live in underserved, low-income communities and seventy-five percent live in Sonoma County. The Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center’s youth education program is committed to offering free and affordable programs and scholarships to low income schools and students.

Chop's Teen Club Organization Chop's Art Studio exposes teen members to a wide range of creative activities and opportunities. Through open studio time, workshops and classes, teens experience art disciplines such as hand built and wheel thrown ceramics, sewing and knitting, painting, drawing and construction. The Art Studio staff members are always available for help with projects. We are dedicated to promoting a vast variety of affordable activities that foster creativity in a fun artistic atmosphere.

Cinnabar Theater Organization The mission of Cinnabar Theater is to present a wide range of theatrical, musical and operatic works that are relevant to contemporary life and challenging to audiences and artists alike. To achieve our mission, we create an environment that fosters the experimentation and exploration needed to produce high-quality performances, which can be enjoyed for their technique and artistry as well as for their connection to life and living. Additionally, we are committed to training young people in the performing arts so they can make lasting and meaningful connections between the arts and their daily lives. In 1983, we introduced our Young Repertory Theater ("Young Rep") program. Created to counteract the ongoing decline of arts funding in public schools, Young Rep serves youth ages 4-18 from throughout Sonoma County. An ongoing program, Young Rep trains youth in the performing arts, specifically plays and musical theater. Through carefully crafted, age-appropriate curriculum, youth explore how their daily lives connect to the performing arts, and discover their own talents. Young Rep activities, which include summer camps and after-school programming, culminate into an average of five live performances, starring our Young Rep youth, annually. To ensure all youth who seek to explore the performing arts have the opportunity to participate, we offer scholarships for socioeconomically disadvantaged youth. Annually, 120 youth participate in Young Rep.

Green Music Center At Sonoma State University Organization

The Green Music Center is the performing arts presenter at Sonoma State University, a regionally public serving university committed to educational access and excellence. Our mission is to present the most compelling artists of our time, to investigate ideas, and to provide access to diverse artistic experiences that educate, connect, and inspire Sonoma State University and neighboring North Bay communities.

International touring artists participate in activities such as pre- and post-performance discussions, visits to K-12 schools and community organizations, and workshops with community members at the Green Music Center. Activities are designed to develop creative capacities, critical thinking skills, and encourage participants to investigate communal and personal values while building empathy for cultures and experiences outside of one's own. Additionally, we partner with schools and youth organizations to offer complimentary tickets to students in surrounding communities for select concerts.

Grupo Folklórico Quetzalen Organization  Grupo Folklórico Quetzalen of Sonoma Valley was founded in May of 2008. Currently under the direction of  Victor Ferrer, Quetzalén started as a senior project at Sonoma Valley High School and later became the community’s first Mexican folk ensemble. In 2014, Sonoma Valley's City Council proclaimed  Quetzalen Sonoma's official ballet folklorico. We participate in all Latin cultural events. Our purpose is to support local schools, educational programs and non-profit organizations through after school classes, workshops and performances year round. Our mission is to educate, preserve and promote the splendor of Mexico's traditional dances, music and colorful costumes. Part of our commitment is to conduct outreach programs for the youth in our community to instill pride of their cultural heritage. We promote cultural education to diverse communities in Sonoma County. 

Healdsburg Center For The Arts Organization HCA offers a wide range of classes, workshops and activities for people of all ages and backgrounds to express their potential through art. Offerings include Ceramics, Painting, Drawing, Fiber Arts, Drama, Collage, Music, and more!  Healdsburg Center for the Arts desires to make art experiences available to all. To that end, we offer tuition assistance in the form of full and partial scholarships and work-study opportunities.

Janet Greene Individual Janet is a certified Orff Music and Movement Specialist with a masters degree in Early Childhood Curriculum. She teaches TK-3rd grade students at Oak Grove Elementary School in Graton and Apple Blossom School in Sebastopol.  Her course Orff Music and Movement  in Early Childhood is offered every summer for  classroom and music teachers through the San Francisco International Orff Course. Janet’s classes for children and teachers integrate  singing, rhythmic speech, creative movement, musical stories, body percussion and musical instruments. Students improvise, create and notate their own music compositions in a playful and joyful environment.  For several years she was the pre-orchestra teacher for the Simply Strings El Sistema program sponsored by the Santa Rosa Symphony and was a mentor teacher for the San Francisco Symphony Keeping Score project for classroom teachers. Janet has received numerous district grants to integrate music and movement into the K-4 Language Arts, ESL, Math and Science curricula. Janet has shared her interest in music, language and movement by offering courses for teachers and children in Bali, Bhutan, South Africa and Thailand. Matthew Baker Individual, Organization Matthew is a multi-media commercial artist sharing his skills to our youth. After 17 years in the industry, he has decided to give back to our community and has been teaching industry level design in both public and private schools in Sonoma County for the past seven years. In November of 2022, Matthew joined Boomerang Plus, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to teaching students the important connection between school, business, and nonprofit organizations in building a stronger community. The heart of Matthew’s programs is an interactive presentation that gives students an awareness of how art is used as a tool to communicate. In this course, he shows how the motion picture, food, television, toy, fashion, auto, and real estate industries rely on the use of shapes and color to communicate. Move Over Mozart Organization Affordable and Accessible Lessons Move Over Mozart has provided quality piano lessons since 1988. We have recently expanded our offering to piano, guitar, ukulele and art instruction to students throughout Sonoma County.

Museum Of Sonoma County Organization The mission of the Museum of Sonoma County is to engage and inspire our diverse community with art and history exhibitions, collections, and public programs that are inclusive, educational, and relevant. Established in 1985, the Museum of Sonoma County (Sonoma County Museum) presents 12-15 rotating art and history exhibitions per year.
