SESSION DESCRIPTIONS

Keynote Presentation: Your Backyard is Bigger Than You Think

Cliff Goldmacher, Songwriter | Producer | Educator (see bio)

Sonoma songwriter/producer Cliff Goldmacher will produce a live-remote recording session featuring the winner of the Next Level Songwriting Contest. With a studio in Nashville linked to the conference attendees at the Luther Burbank Center, Goldmacher will work with the winning songwriter, Bobby Jo Valentine, and professional session players in Nashville to lay down the backing instrumental tracks in this multi-city collaboration. Goldmacher will walk attendees through the creative and technical process showing that it is within our reach to expand our creative network beyond the geographic boundaries of Sonoma County.

Amplify Your Impact: Maximizing Your Recording Opportunities

Hank Neuberger, Springboard Productions (see bio)

Producer/Engineer Hank Neuberger will lead a session on readily available tools and techniques that capture excellent audio and video content on a DIY budget. The conversation will cover topics such as where should you spend or save money on gear, how to negotiate with a venue to get a better recording from your live sessions, how important is quality in your recorded product in today’s competitive marketplace, and more.

Expand Your Connectivity: Social Media Tools for Results

Isabelle Garson, Second Octave Media (see bio)

This session will discuss how to maximize your content and human resources through social media including using your content effectively on multiple platforms, shaping your own digital image, discovering and growing your regional fans for successful touring, and more.

Grow Your Revenues: Exploring New and Retooled Income Streams

Joe Barham, Patreon (see bio)

Veteran music manager Joe Barham will discuss the wide variety of new and reinvented revenue streams available for musicians today from licensing, merchandising, and touring to local brand partnerships and online membership funding.
