Currently a senior at Sonoma State University in Communication and Media, I am looking for collaborative and mentorship opportunities within Sonoma County primarily and the Bay Area at large. A writer to the bone, I have experience with video work of all kinds (mostly camera, lighting, and directing/producing, some with editing) as well as some audio experience (ever-expanding because it is my second passion next to writing). I believe I have a lot to offer in a wide range of areas and love helping creative juices flow like watersheds into a project.
Lucy Liew
Lucy Liew Painting, Visual Arts Lucy Liew is a Malaysian-American artist known for her vibrant paintings depicting the iconic beauty of Californian nature.  With their themes of resilience and hope, her uplifting compositions  evoke wonder and joy by magnifying the magic of the natural world. Lucy’s clients include private collectors, art consultants, and interior designers. Her artwork is featured in several hospitals (including Kaiser Permanente and Sutter Regional Hospital in Santa Rosa and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford),  premium wineries,  and beautiful California homes. Lucy’s paintings are also available in Giclée prints of various sizes, which can be purchased online through her website. She is available for both private and public commissions.

Mark Lifvendahl Painting, Visual Arts I am a painter and gallery owner in Guerneville. My newest series titled "Flowers From Ashes,"  incorporates ashes from the devastating fires of 2017. The series honors the nature, people and animals affected and depicts bright flowers bursting out of the ash below. Some many were devastated by the fires but, like the flowers, the people of Sonoma County are resilient and will once again thrive. Flowers From Ashes is intended to console, inspire and memorialize the sad tragedy which occurred last October.
MJ Lindo-Lawyer
MJ Lindo-Lawyer Illustration, Mixed, Muralist, Painting, Visual Arts Painting from her bay area home studio filled with cactus, ferns and philodendrons, MJ Lindo-Lawyer explores alternative universes and whimsical, dark fantastical worlds using different mediums. Being self-taught, it was tough for MJ to settle on a medium until she fell in love with oil paint and wooden canvases. Known for her use of creamy pastels and rich skin tones, MJ creates a world of whimsy in which a giantess woman can befriend a tiny bear cub or a group of miniature elephants’ campfire around a forest goddess for warmth. Since 2003, MJ has been telling versions of her life story and other women’s stories through her multi-cultural woman and their interactions with these alternative universes and unique furry friends. MJ Lindo-Lawyer lives and works in the Bay area with her husband and studio mates her kitten Garbage and her 160 lb Neapolitan Mastiff Mellow.
Adrian Litman
Adrian Litman Ceramics, Furniture, Illustration, Painting, Sculpture For the past 30 years, I have been working on a variety of projects for Civic, Corporate, Business and Residential clients, integrating art into architecture as well as designing free standing two and three dimensional pieces that create a sense of encounter and engagement through visual distinction or interaction. As an artist, I find inspiration and fuel for creative expression by contemplating the world around me. My inspiration is enhanced by concepts introduced by contemporary science, social issues, politics and cultural diversities. I use abstract and figurative interpretations to convey messages and emotions with sensibility, combining control and passion. Depending on the scope of design, volumes, shapes and vibrant luminous colors, are crafted to converge in an elegant harmony, stimulating the mind and emotions of the viewer. Having an eclectic approach to design, I feel comfortable flowing from dramatic subjects to whimsical and humorous themes. I have a broad range of diverse artistic skills and experience of working with a variety of durable materials like stainless steel, copper, brass, bronze, porcelain and glass as appropriate for harmonious integration with the site's architectural style and environment. For most of my large size public art designs, I cooperate with architects, structural engineers and licensed public art fabricators. As a basic principle, I create public art designs with flexibility in order to allow the project stakeholders and community input and participation. 
 
 
Tawnya Lively
Tawnya Lively Mixed, Visual Arts I make mixed media art & designs focused on pattern, texture and color using collage and mosaic materials. I have a B.A. degree in both Art History and Painting with a minor in Art Management from Sonoma State University. For ten years, I worked as a project manager in game design - coordinating artists, sound designers and software engineers. In the aftermath of the October 2017 fires, I founded Firestorm Mosaics in which I create new heirlooms for those who lost homes using the broken pieces of porcelain and ceramic that were recovered from the ashes of their properties. I also coordinate other mosaic artists to help with the project in addition to hosting workshops for those who would like to make their own projects.
Karen Lockert
Karen Lockert Artisan, Ceramics, Fiction, Literature, Mixed, Other, Painting, Sculpture, Visual Arts Karen Lockert was always the kid who daydreamed her way through school, seeing beauty in what most other people thought was quite ordinary, if not downright ugly. Her career was launched only after leaving her position as a high school art teacher in Los Angeles, when she began to understand that she had been repeatedly “re-birthing” and “re-homing” herself through her art work. She is probably best known for her evocative, mixed-media compositions of the vintage, vernacular architecture of West Sonoma County, where she now lives. Her work has been exhibited at many galleries in the Russian River area, including Occidental Center for the Arts, Russian River Art Gallery, Cooprider Gallery, Graton Gallery, Lawson Gallery, and the Sebastopol Center for the Arts. In addition, she was a regular participant in Art @ the Source, West Sonoma County’s Open Studio tour for several years. As a spiritual, meditative artist at heart, it has been said that “her newest work gorgeously draws people into a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them”.

Sherrie Long
Sherrie Long Film Office, General Services, Media With a background in art and 25 years in the entertainment industry working both in front of the camera and behind the scenes, it's no wonder Sherrie Long has spent the last 16 years of her career as a hair, makeup, & effects artist for some of the top names in the business. Her specialty is print advertising, but she has also contributed her talents to shows for the Discovery Channel, FOX, ABC, and CBS Television, the 76th Annual Academy Awards, as well as fashion shows for Armani, Burberry, Donna Karan, Philip Lim, The Gap, Nordstrom, and stage performances with names like Dana Carvey and Jewel just to name a few. Sherrie enjoys the challenge of creating three dimensional, clean, glowing makeups and customized hairstyles for each individual.

American Lore
American Lore Composition, Instrumental, Music, Vocal Rock, then and now. American Lore brings everyone’s favorite classic rock back to the stage and continues the story of rock through original music. With bass, drums, guitar, and vocals, the line-up consists of collegiate level musicians who are all also lifetime rock fans. Their enthusiasm for the music brings audiences to sing with and dance along to all their favorites. American Lore covers songs from ACDC, Journey, Led Zeppelin, Heart, Jimi Hendrix, Aerosmith, and more. They have had the pleasure of playing for crowds in venues ranging from large jet hangars to rocking it up at local Bay Area pubs. The band thrives on giving these music classics their proper respect and giving audiences a live performance that brings them back to the good old days of rock and roll! Band Members: Aleena Decker, Vocals: Aleena is a classically trained vocalist, from Redondo Beach, CA, with a B.A. degree in History and Music from Sonoma State University. She has had the pleasure of performing with L.A. Opera, Sonoma State University Chamber Singers, and the Healdsburg Chorus. Along with classical training, Aleena received jazz vocal training from Sonoma State University and is an avid jazz musician and improvisationalist. She brings her musical training and rock enthusiasm to life in Vintage Crush. Scott Decker, Guitar: Scott, a Healdsburg native, was first drawn to music by way of the guitar at age 13. He began studying guitar with local guitar player and educator Chris Pimentel. Scott’s formal music education started at the Santa Rosa Junior College where he discovered his love for the jazz art form while studying under Bennett Friedman. Later, Scott received a B.A. in Jazz Guitar Performance from Sonoma State University, earning the honorary Mel Graves ‘Distinguished Graduate in the field of Jazz’ award. Scott has had the pleasure of studying and playing music with such notable artists and educators: Dayna Stephens, Randy Vincent, Doug Leibinger, Matt Wilson, Babatunde Lea, Julian Lage, Steve Rubardt, Cliff Hugo, Kendrick Freeman, and more. Scott has been playing and studying music for two decades, and can be found playing in various musical groups throughout Sonoma County. Ian Riggle, Bass: Ian has played bass guitar for nearly three decades. He received his degree in Recording Arts Technology from Full Sail University, a premier media arts college in Florida. Through Ian’s passion for sound engineering and music, Ian created a state of the art home recording studio, which he uses to record his own musical projects as well as many other Sonoma County bands. Ian is Vintage Crush’s newest band member, joining in December of 2016. He has been a wonderful addition to the group in many ways. Ryan Comiskey, Drums: Ryan has been playing drums for 35 years. Ryan received a B.A. in in Jazz Drums from Sonoma State University under the direction of the late Mel Graves. Outside of school, Ryan enjoys jamming in “garage bands” of all rock and jazz types. He has been on dozens of local Sonoma County recordings. Ryan has played at both small and large venues (Konocti Harbor, Mystic Theater…) around Northern California. To Ryan, if it isn’t playing fun music with great people, it’s not worth it.
David Luning
David Luning Music, Vocal John Prine forced David Luning to drop out of college. Not at gunpoint or anything— the two had never even met—but the effect of hearing the songwriting legend's music for the first time had an equally compelling effect on Luning, who was studying film scoring at the Berklee College of Music in Boston at the time. Now an accomplished artist in his own right, Luning is preparing to release his most dynamic and gripping collection to date, 'Restless,' and he can trace it all back to one fateful night that changed everything. "A couple of friends invited me over to share some songs at their apartment, and that was the first time I'd ever really listened to Americana music or folk or country or whatever you want to call it," remembers Luning. "They showed me John Prine, and it just resonated with me so much. I was like, 'Oh my god, this is what I have to do with my life.' I just figured it out in that moment." Luning dropped out of school almost immediately, moved back to his native California, and devoted himself to songwriting and performing. I made a pivot in my career during the recession from commercial interior design to marketing-focused, graphic design. I’ve been able to transfer the design principles of space, color, pattern, and function to that of an organization’s brand initiatives seamlessly. My design and business education coupled together with technical savvy and graphic design skills I was already using in my career has enabled me to use design thinking to solve sales and marketing challenges from a unique perspective.

Rayne Madison Creative Sonoma Grantee, Design, Folk Art, Functional Art, Graphic Design, Mixed, Visual Arts I view art as an exploration of life experience and the tangible means by which to share concepts, ideas and emotions. The closest I have come to describing myself is as an emerging inter-disciplinary conceptual artist. The concepts that I work with arise from my day-to-day existence, they seem to choose me, rather than the other way around. Each project leads me to learn and expand into new areas. My work explores themes of identity, femininity, humanity, attachment, connection, intention, spiritual evolution and that which underlies emotion. Using, whichever materials are best suited to communicating the concept I am working with. Lately, I am drawn to creating street art posters, paper sculptures, pop-up public art installations and collaborative projects. I have a BFA in Graphic Design from NYIT. And, I have worked in publishing, non-profit and investment banking sectors. Bringing me into contact with different aspects of our culture and a diverse field of individuals. I am freelancing as an organizational assistant, event planner, graphic designer and website builder while developing my own projects.

Jacqueline Mallegni
Jacqueline Mallegni Artisan, Design, Fiber Art, Graphic Design, Mixed, Sculpture, Teacher/Instructor, Teaching Artist for Adults, Visual Arts I create mixed media sculpture with rattan, handmade paper, cast flax and silk fiber, sometimes embellished with mono-prints infused with indigo, sumi ink and handmade plant based inks and stains. Making and the art of transformation from tangible to intangible returning to a tangible form is very alluring for me. I am interested in working with materials that translate my appreciation for mother-nature's installations formed by water, wind, light and dark. Patterns in nature, textures and seasonal changes inform my sculptures that reveal primitive and refined qualities. Aside from nature's inspiration, I’m also interested in the concept of the ethereal journey, motherhood, vacancy, loss, renewal and how emotional responses can evoke beauty.  I began making Asian style paper with kozo fiber in 1987. My journey with paper and sculpture has been varied from light fixtures to stone carving to ethereal mixed media sculpture. The thread of my creative process always begins with paper. I’m excited about creating the Chrysalis series that feels like a merging of many techniques developed over the years bringing many voices together that I refer to as contemplative sculpture. 
Gayle Manfre
Gayle Manfre Mixed, Other, Painting, Teacher/Instructor, Visual Arts Gayle Manfre is a teaching artist, painter and art advocate. She one of the founders of Art Escape Sonoma, Sonoma Treasure Artist of 2010 and was awarded The Youth Mural Award from Precita Eyes Muralist in San Francisco. Gayle has been a teaching artist in Sonoma Valley since the 80s. She retired in 2017 and has been happily paintings since then Gayle is a member of the Arts Guild of Sonoma. My paintings are joyful and colorful and range from a wide variety of subjects. I am inspired by my travels and living in beautiful Sonoma.

Gianna Marino
Gianna Marino Children's, Illustration, Literature, Visual Arts Gianna Marino was born in San Francisco and spent her early years galloping horses through Golden Gate Park. Her explorations expanded after graduating from high school and in order to afford her many journeys, Gianna had several jobs at once: apprenticing a muralist, a jewelry designer, a product designer and driving horse carriages through the park. She explored many corners of the world, from Africa, Asia, and Latin America, to the South Pacific, Europe, and as crew on sailboats in the high seas. Gianna finally landed a full-time freelance gig designing toys for children, but after several years in a corporate box with no windows, she left for good and began painting, illustrating and writing books for children. Gianna has written over a dozen award-winning books, including Meet Me at the Moon, Too Tall Houses, Following Papa's Song, Night Animals, Night Animals Need Sleep Too, If I Had a Horse and she is the New York Times best-selling illustrator of Don’t Let Them Disappear, written by Chelsea Clinton. Though she still wanders the world, Gianna now lives in Northern California and works full-time writing and illustrating.
Christie Marks
Christie Marks Painting, Visual Arts “The compelling force behind my images is a thirst to reveal the extraordinary in the ordinary. I search for beauty in places where it seems not to exist; in seemingly mundane and dust covered places, objects, and even people. To me, this basic connection is where our human heritage begins.” Christie Marks Christie Marks has lived in California her entire life. She was born in Long Beach, California, the daughter of a hard working small businessman from Iowa and a homemaker from Kansas. Although Christie was considered creative, especially in regards to design, texture and color, she showed no interest in drawing or painting. In fact, it was not until Christie was in her 50’s that she took her first fine art class; Drawing I at Santa Rosa Junior College. Christie did have experience in the applied arts prior to taking that first drawing class at the Junior College. Her college degree is in Interior Design and a certain amount of drawing is involved in that coursework. As time went on and Christie began to advance in her interior design career, she used sketching more and more to communicate ideas to her clients. The sketches eventually led to full presentation drawings and Christie’s interest in fine art was born. Christie took every drawing and painting class available at Santa Rosa Junior College, some several times! Eventually having exhausted the available coursework, Christie began to branch out, taking classes from local instructors and enrolling in workshops throughout the Bay Area. Finding and working in her own studio space in Santa Rosa’s SOFA Arts District made the transition complete. Although Christie enjoys painting, she says that she loves mixed media work. Her process involves layering paper bags, butcher paper, and multiple original drawings and paintings done on translucent paper. The subject matter is contemporary but nostalgic and often based on her own photography. The end result is a body of oftentimes haunting works that convey a beautiful melancholy that touches the heart. Dan Martin
Dan Martin Audio, Composition, Instrumental, Media, Music, Teacher/Instructor, Vocal Northern California native, Dan Martin has been writing songs and performing in bands since he was 17 years old. A student of drums, as well as guitars and vocals, his passions are found within Reggae and Ska as well as Jazz, Rock and Folk. In 2009, Dan began performing as a solo artist, creating a local buzz through songs with lyrical honesty and an upbeat, danceable feel. Leading into 2010 he began the formation of a backing band, recruiting other local musician-friends who shared in his passion for the Rocksteady vibes. By 2012 the band had solidified into a full 7-piece band, The Noma Rocksteady Band and they lit-up dance floors wherever they went. Performing at venues throughout Northern California, Dan and The Noma Rocksteady Band has shared bills with such acts as The Melodians, Pato Banton, Israel Vibrations, Burnt, and Midnight Sun Massive. Dan Martin and the Noma Rocksteady Band continue to lighten the spirit and shake the dance floor with old-school reggae rhythms, while maintaining a unique contemporary sound.
Buzzy Martin
Buzzy Martin Composition, Instrumental, Literature, Music, Non-Fiction, Other, Vocal Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Buzzy taught himself to play the guitar and piano at the age of 13. At the age of 15, he performed with his first band as the lead singer, playing guitar and keyboards. Buzzy has been making his dream real, one step at a time. After graduating from high school there were the traveling cover bands, steadily touring the Midwest from Michigan to Florida. In 1979, he moved to northern California, had a stint as a solo street performer at the world famous San Francisco Fisherman's Wharf. While wood shedding his composing skills, Buzzy became the much-in-demand host of a series of coffee house open mic nights, where his knowledgeable musicianship, sunny personality and non-stop encouragement helped the caffeine scene thrive. In 1980 he began to play with many local bands and musicians as a featured artist. In early 1981, he was hired as the mainstay guitar player for an Elvis Presley impersonator and became responsible for the direction and stage presence of the band. Melissa Masters Music, Painting, Visual Arts, Vocal I work as an expressive arts therapist/art therapist. I offer workshops in my studio in Sonoma. As a creative I have an interest in all the expressive arts and primarily focus my time on painting wall hangings that include painted symbols and sacred geometry. In the past I have worked mostly as a landscape painter. I love doing mural work and have done this work in the Bay area ...and also painted furniture. I am a vocalist and write love and new thought themed songs that have a celtic sound.
