Student Arts Spotlight

Student Arts Spotlight shares the good news of the arts making a difference in students’ lives in a monthly feature. The Sonoma County Arts Education Alliance is pleased to share a partnership with Amarosa Academy and ArtStart. Amarosa Academy is an alternative education school run by the Sonoma County Office of Education with programming dedicated to restorative education. The school administrator saw an opportunity to re-enliven the school by partnering with interdisciplinary local artists. ArtStart artists embraced the opportunity to empower the students of Amarosa by creating “See You on the Other Side,” a pilot program dedicated to social wellness through integrated arts education. Congratulations!

Newest Arts Advocacy Group – Youth Arts Leaders!

What if young people are empowered by trusting adults who fully believe that youth hold an internal compass that guides them to make a difference in the world? What if students’ voices could ring and resonate in their community? How can youth receive connection and support to change their world?

The new program, Youth Arts Leaders, supports students through discussion, information, and training. YAL provides a connector to acknowledge, build, and share arts advocacy messaging – all to lift up new student leaders.
