SONOMA COUNTY RESOURCES AND NEWS

Student Arts Spotlight

Student Arts Spotlight shares the good news of the arts making a difference in students’ lives in a monthly feature. The Sonoma County Arts Education Alliance is pleased to share iAspire Arts Integration for August 2021. Congratulations, iAspire Educators and Students!

The iAspire Arts Integration Summit was held this summer, involving lead teachers to mentor classroom teachers new to the program. This year’s Summit involved migrant education students in the work. These artistic examples are from a social emotional connection-self/cultural pride lesson. For more information on this summer’s program, please contact lead teacher, Robyn Fletcher rfletcher@wusd.org

Parents! Join us for a dialogue about opportunities available to students through arts education.

With the Arts Education Alliance Advocacy Team, learn about how the arts support college and career readiness, academic achievement, increase attendance and graduation rates, and provide our children with a tool to develop empathy, kindness, and community. Find out to begin discussions at your child’s school. Meetings on August 31, 2021 select the time most convenient for you 12:30 or 5:30. Meetings will be simulcast in Spanish. Learn more HERE.
