Student Arts Spotlight

Student Arts Spotlight shares the good news of the arts making a difference in students’ lives in a monthly feature.

Steele Lane Elementary School in the Santa Rosa City School District partnered with the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts to offer professional learning, ” Combining Arts Education with Social Emotional Learning Techniques.” Educators from across the county joined in the PD to use the arts as a tool for students’ mental health.

Unpacking “Creativity Challenge: The State of Arts Education in California”

This follow-up report from SRI Education shows that a majority of California schools continue to fail to meet state education requirements of offering all students dance, music, theater, and visual arts instruction. Another exciting year of School Visual and Performing Arts Leaders Cohort!

School visual and performing arts leaders are invited to join meetups of the School Visual and Performing Arts Leaders Cohort. This Cohort will strive to create a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment for experienced and developing school arts education leaders. These sessions will help school arts leaders build their own professional capacity  and “make the case” for local and regional VAPA coordination.Learn more HERE.

Access to Dance Education

New dance platform Crelata uses technology to create more access to dance education. Crelate provides educationally sound digital arts lesson that can supplement existing dance curriculum or offer a dance curriculum for schools that don’t have one.
