Guitarist/Composer David Jenkins ("El Oso") performs works inspired from his immersion in Spain's Andalusian flamenco. From early studies on cello at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, David later apprenticed himself to learn dance accompaniment in Triana, the Roma ("gypsy") section of Seville, and studied with disciples of flamenco masters. He has since travelled to study the origins of Roma music both in India and Romania, and has performed in Mexico, Nicaragua, and the Bay Area.
