Financial Bootcamp for Creatives

Are you serious about professionalizing your creative business? Get into (fiscal) shape!

Developed by a CPA with years of experience working with artists, entrepreneurs, sole proprietors, and small businesses, this series of six “bite-size” 60-minute classes is designed to get you on track to manage your finances and business reporting. Topics include budgeting, bookkeeping, business structure, hiring and/or subcontracting, and taxes. 

We encourage those interested to take the entire series, as each course is designed to flow into the next to increase your understanding of best practices.

Bookkeeping the Easy Way – Learn about banking, software and when to ask for help.

Business Structure – Learn whether your business should be a Corporation, LLC, Sole Proprietorship or Not-For-Profit.

NOVEMBER 14, 2017
Hiring Employees and Subcontractors – Learn when to hire, how to choose between employee or subcontractors, and what reporting is required.

NOVEMBER 28, 2017
Sales Tax and Local Taxes – Learn the ins and outs of sales tax collection and the other reporting required by local government.

DECEMBER 5, 2017
Income Tax – Learn the basics of income tax for the self-employed as well as how to gather and organize your data to minimize your tax preparation bill.

LOCATION: Creative Sonoma, 141 Stony Circle, Suite 110, Santa Rosa, CA
TIME: 12:00-1:00pm (You are welcome to bring a brown bag lunch.)
FEE: $10 per class

 

*Refund policy for 6-class series:  must cancel by Friday, October 20, 2017 to receive a full refund of the $45 series fee. No additional refunds (for missed classes, etc) will be available once the series begins. 

**Refund policy for those signing up for individual classes:  must cancel by the Friday before the class to receive the full refund of the $10 class fee.
