CALL TO YOUTH: Shelter in Place: A Visual Portrayal
SHELTER IN PLACE : A Visual Portrayal
Description of Project:
Through this project we will connect and engage with our youth communities by reaching out with these questions:
· How do you currently see your role in your community?
· Where do you find hope, strength and compassion?
· What are the feelings of yourself and those around you?
· How do you see this moment in history?
Submit sketches, drawings and paintings that visually portray the answers to these questions.
Parts of all submitted sketches will be woven into the designs for a large community mural reflecting the unique perspective of our 14 to 20 year- old population.
We are at the threshold of change; this extraordinary experience offers an opportunity to reflect and express. Let art comfort and heal, providing a crossroads to bring people together in a new way.
A collaged mural painting will be one of the greatest forms of representation, to spark conversations about who we are, what we stand for and how we will be remembered.
No special art supplies needed. All skill levels welcome, send from anywhere in the world.
Ages 14-20 is the population that Artstart has served for over 20 years in Sonoma County, California.
