FUNDING OPPORTUNITY: Fleishhacker Foundation Accepting Applications for Special Arts Fund

The Fleishhacker Foundation is accepting applications from larger mid-sized Bay Area arts and culture organizations for its Special Projects program.

Through the program, grants of up to $25,000 will be awarded to support special artistic projects or initiatives, artistic collaborations, or commissions involving local artists or for upgrades to facilities that will benefit artists and audiences (when not part of a large capital campaign).

Special Arts Grants are awarded based on their potential impact on the applicant organization, discipline, and local community. Arts organizations with annual budgets between $750,000 and $2.5 million will be considered if their project is timely and, due to its scope, requires special grant funding. If applying with an eligible fiscal sponsor, film projects with budgets between $750,000 and $2.5 million are also considered in this category. Only Bay Area residents are considered. Capital campaigns, endowment campaigns, and fundraising events are not eligible.

To be eligible, applicants must be an arts and cultural organization incorporated as a nonprofit organization; located and offering programming in the greater San Francisco Bay Area; able to demonstrate a consistent artistic presence in the Bay Area for at least three years; have an annual budget size between $750,000 and $2.5 million; and/or be a film project with a budget between $750,000 and $2.5 million under the fiscal sponsorship of a tax-exempt nonprofit organization.

For complete program guidelines, information about previous grant recipients, and application procedures, see the Fleishhacker Foundation.
