MEETUP: Arts Education Alliance Meeting for District/School Administration and Trustees

Join the Sonoma County Arts Education Alliance for a meetup of district/school administrators, curriculum & instruction directors, school board members, & education foundations. Discussion topics will include Building Capacity for Sustainable Arts Education, as well as Social Emotional Learning and the Arts. Learn about Promising Practices, as well as opportunities available through the Arts Education Alliance. Networking time will be provided.

This meetup features Dr. Mariana Astorga-Almanza, VAPA Coordinator for Lynwood Unified School District. Dr. Astorga-Almanza is the Visual and Performing Arts Coordinator in the Lynwood Unified School District, where she strives to provide its students with equitable access to high-quality arts education. In addition, she serves on the CDE California Practitioners Advisory Group and the Create CA Leadership Council.

Windsor USD VAPA Facilitator, Elizabeth Robertson, will present on Social Emotional Learning and the Arts. Ms. Robertson has presented on SEL and the arts to a statewide audience about strategies and perspectives in using arts education to support SEL.
