CREATIVE RECORDING
SONGWRITERS STUDIO

CREATIVE RECORDING

Prairie Sun Recording Studios, 1039 Madrone Ave, Cotati, CA

Saturday, May 6, 2017, 10:00am-3:15pm

Fees:  FREE to Submit Demos / $20 to attend session*

Sonoma County musicians and bands have the opportunity to win a recording session in a professional studio with professional producer/engineer Glenn Lorbecki.  Lorbecki, who has worked with diverse artists from the White Stripes to Dave Matthews to Dizzy Gillespie, will work with the selected musician/band in advance for pre-production creative discussions. In addition to the musician/band selected, the session will be open additional attendees to observe the creative recording process in action. Creative Recording attendees will observe a professional recording session focused on the multitude of creative choices a musician can (and should) make in the recording process and knowing how to work with an engineer to get the desired results.

*Once those who have submitted demos are offered space, any remaining spots will be opened to those interested in observing and learning from the recording process. Registration will open once the demo competition has completed, during the week of April 23.

The deadline to submit demos is Thursday, April 27, 2017, 11:59pm PST

RULES TO APPLY:

  • Entrants must be available to attend the May 6 Next Level Pre-Conference during the designated time.
  • The band or musician who wins the opportunity to record will still pay the $20 per person Saturday, May 6 attendance fee; however, the winning band or musician will be featured during a “before and after” session at the May 7 Sunday Conference and will have their Sunday registration fees waived.
  • The recording session is limited to bands of 5 members or less in the studio (if your band is larger, you will need to select just 5 to participate in this session).

Submit up to three demo tracks for the opportunity to win a space! Hollander has written 21 Top 40 hits, and has worked with Katy Perry, One Direction, Train, The Fray, Carole King, and many more.
