2018.12.07: Cartoon Drawing Workshop With Brian Fies
Comics are a storytelling medium that combines words and pictures to convey more meaning than either words or pictures could alone.
You don’t have to be a great artist to be a great cartoonist. It’s the story that matters, and comics are especially well-suited to tell intimate stories about characters and their lives: history, biography, memoir. In this workshop, cartoonist Brian Fies (Mom’s Cancer, A Fire Story) will talk about why comics are a great medium for telling your story, and guide you through creating a (very) short comic that will give you the confidence and techniques to continue on your own.
