The Green Music Center is hiring a Senior Director of Development.

Job Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director of the Green Music Center, with additional direction from and collaboration with the Associate Vice President for University Advancement, the Senior Director of Development provides overall management and leadership for the Green Music Center’s development team, directing the activities of development personnel charged with supporting annual giving and corporate partnerships, as well as guiding strategic planning for the division. The Senior Director is focused on building a strong individual giving program and providing sophisticated support to the Green Music Center’s Board of Advisors. Additionally, the Senior Director of Development leads efforts to increase corporate partnership revenue and annual giving while continuing to build a strong base of foundation support. The incumbent also acts as both an advocate and ambassador for the Green Music Center across the University and community, helping to establish strategic priorities while serving as a committed contributing member of the Green Music Center’s leadership team.

Key Qualifications
This position requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in development and major gift fundraising, including 5 years of progressively responsible and applicable management and/or supervisory experience. Bachelor's degree required, masters preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience to provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Experience in the performing arts and/or higher education is highly preferred. The incumbent must have a proven record of thoughtful work with individuals capable of making Major Gifts and a record of successfully working with high level volunteers, individual donors, and soliciting and securing gifts. Intermediate proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite required. Knowledge of Google Suite and Raiser’s Edge (or similar CRM) experience highly preferred. Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred. The incumbent must possess and/or obtain and thereafter maintain a California Driver’s License valid for the operation of any vehicle or equipment required to maintain and operate.

Salary and Benefits
Starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and is anticipated to be in the range of $9,500 to $10,583 a month. This position is a member of the Management Personnel Plan and serves at the pleasure of the President.

This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 14 paid holidays are offered each year; 13 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.
