PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Sonoma County CAC Grant Application Roundtable

The California Arts Council (CAC) has announced two grant cycles for this winter/spring:  the first five grant programs (Cycle A) to which arts and other nonprofit organizations can apply are now open with a deadline of March 9, 2022.

In order to help Sonoma County based applicants gain insights and write compelling applications, Creative Sonoma is hosting a Roundtable for past and potential applicants on Wednesday, February 16th from 4:00 – 5:00 pm via ZoomRegister HERE.

Creative Sonoma staff members Kristen Madsen and Samantha Kimpel will walk through some of the key priorities, as we understand them, of the programs and share our own experience in successfully applying for CAC Grants. We will hold another Roundtable when CAC opens Cycle B later this year.

Cycle A grant programs are for nonprofit organizations or organizations working with fiscal sponsors – no applications are currently open for individual artists. The five programs are:

  • Arts & Cultural Organizations General Operating Relief – addressing Covid related impacts (organizations with budgets under $250,000)
  • Cultural Pathways – supporting arts programs in communities of color (organizations with budgets under $150,000)
  • Impact Projects – collaborative projects using arts to address social issues
  • JUMP StArts – programs for youth who have been impacted by the justice system
  • Reentry Through the Arts – programs for formerly incarcerated adults
