With these basic human attributes ingrained into the youth of our communities, enlightenment is assured for our future. Our mission here at the LDEI is to fill the education gap created by the mainstream. Our vision is to see every child learn to appreciate their self-worth, resilience and power. Social emotional skills gained from our program are self-confidence, teamwork, and perseverance. Success of the program will be measured in three ways; by the obvious joy in the children's minds and hearts and the culminating event produced, and an online anonymous survey students and parents can fill out to give feedback. Historically after school programs focused on either just physical content or on academic content, here at LDEI, we understand children are multifaceted and deserve to have every aspect of their being served. Our program broadens children's horizons by teaching them…to keep going when its hard and that's when things pay off. Our program develops character by having students work closely together, building an interdependence that shows working on the same goal moves all forward. Building much needed community awareness. Pepperwood Education, Environmental, Kids/Family, Nonprofit, Sports/Outdoors Pepperwood is a non-profit organization, and our mission is to inspire conservation through science. Located in the heart of Sonoma County— a globally recognized biodiversity hotspot— Pepperwood manages a 3,200-acre biological preserve and the Dwight Center for Conservation Science. An important refuge for more than 900 species of native plants and wildlife, the preserve serves as a living laboratory hosting researchers from around the world. The Dwight Center has become a hub for ecological education and a conservation think tank. For more than a decade Pepperwood has worked to connect children, youth, and adults with nature. The purpose of the Inspiring Connections with Nature Initiative is to connect people to nature and inspire a lifelong conservation ethic through exploration, observation, science, and artistic expression. It will build upon current programming that includes our Students Conducting Environmental Inquiry (SCENIQ) program for elementary school children, TeenNat for youth ages 8-18, summer youth institutes, family-oriented outdoor experiences, and a host of community education classes and retreats. New and expanded activities through 2025 will include: partnerships with visual arts organizations to host art installations and gallery shows at Pepperwood; a new performing arts series on the preserve; new opportunities for filmmakers, photographers, and other visual artists to engage with the land; new outreach to local Latinx audiences; and potential partnerships with digital media experts to virtually amplify our programming. This timely initiative will encourage children, youth, and adults of diverse backgrounds to actively engage with the outdoors, learn about the natural world, and be inspired to protect nature and live sustainably.

Keeping Music in the Schools

Our goal is simple: “keeping music in the schools”. The Petaluma Music Festival Board of Directors believe passionately in the positive influence of music in children’s lives. Proceeds from this annual event will be distributed among Petaluma’s public elementary and secondary schools to provide funding for their music programs. Funding for the arts is problematic in California, as there is never enough funding for all our school’s needs. With your attendance, you are making a difference, and we applaud you!

In 2018, the Petaluma Music Festival donated over $60,000 to the music programs in all Petaluma area public schools, and in the last 11 years, we have donated over $325,000!

We are a group of individuals just like you – community-minded individuals with an interest in preserving performing arts.

With funding for arts disappearing in our schools, the responsibility for supporting the arts lies firmly with us. When we banded together to save the historic Raven Theater in downtown Healdsburg California, we had big dreams of enhancing the lives of every community member by offering a conveniently located, eclectic array of entertainment.

That same goal pushes us forward today, as we continue to look for ways to broaden our role as a gathering place, wow audiences with top-name acts, bring in both amateur and professional stage productions, add more world music and dance shows to our lineup, and enable a stimulating exchange of ideas through a speaker series. Did we mention that we want to do all of this in a first-rate theater environment? One of our key goals is to raise funds to improve Raven with dressing rooms, better seating, more bathrooms, offices, storage for set pieces, enhanced lighting and sound, and an inviting lobby/concession area.

The mission of the Raven Performing Arts Theater is to provide an inviting venue for performing arts and a vibrant center for community, educational, and public service activities.

Specifically,

To provide a long-term home for community performance groups including schools, churches, clubs, and public and private organizations.
To offer programming that encompasses a variety of professional performances including dance, acting, music, and festivals.
To provide a learning environment for children and adults, as individuals and in groups, to learn many aspects of theater operation, production, and presentation.

Short-term goals include a strong desire to expand our program offerings, upgrade the theater to enable a wider range of entertainers to perform on its stage. Longer term, we plan to convert the Raven Performing Arts Theater into a state-of-the-art performance venue, and create an endowment to sustain programming and theater maintenance.

The Rincon Valley Education Foundation (RVEF) works in partnership with the Rincon Valley Union School District (RVUSD) to provide supplemental learning opportunities that broaden and enrich the students' educational experiences.

RVEF supports the RVUSD's vision, goals, and objectives by providing stable, sustainable funding for program enhancements in targeted curriculum areas. RVEF unites families, staff, and community in its fundraising efforts so that we all share in the financial cost of an exemplary education as well as its success.
