Sonoma County is home to more than 200 non-profit arts organizations along with 100s of other creative enterprises who work every day to enrich our lives with exhibits, performances, readings, happenings. Sometimes, they are caretakers of our collective cultural identity. Sometimes they are tour guides, leading us on an exploration into uncharted emotional waters. Arts Guild Of Sonoma Art Gallery, Association/Club/Group/Guild, Business, Fine Crafts, Holidays Shop Local, Museum and Gallery Memberships, Nonprofit, Retail, Visual Arts The Arts Guild of Sonoma is a non-profit, cooperative fine arts organization whose purpose is to showcase local artists and enliven the art community in the city of Sonoma and beyond. Our gallery is located just off the plaza in Sonoma. Our members are professional artists working in a variety of media. We are always excepting applications, and screen in new members three times a year. In 2017 we celebrated our 40th year of continuous operation, making us one of the oldest cooperative art galleries in the state! We have new shows monthly with receptions usually on the first Friday or Saturday of the month.

The Museum will carry out this mission through exhibits and programming that:

Illustrates the scope of Schulz’s multi-faceted career,
Communicates the stories, inspirations, and influences of Charles M. Schulz,
Celebrates the life of Charles M. Schulz and the Peanuts characters, and
Builds an understanding of cartoonists and cartoon art.

Our mission is to inspire curiosity and creativity through joyful, transformative experiences. Our vision is to ensure that all children have access to innovative play, creating more opportunities to empower the next generation of leaders, inventors, thinkers, and dreamers. The Children’s Museum uses the science of childhood brain development as the framework for its exhibits and activities. Interior and exterior spaces -- including Ella's Art Studio -- offer a creative and stimulating playground for young children that is unparalleled in Sonoma County. CMOSC’s continuum of arts programs, Arts for All, supports children’s exploration of artistic media, cultural influences, and self-expression. The mission of the Museum of Sonoma County is to engage and inspire our diverse community with art and history exhibitions, collections, and public programs that are inclusive, educational, and relevant.

Established in 1985, the Museum of Sonoma County (Sonoma County Museum) presents 12-15 rotating art and history exhibitions per year. Located in Downtown Santa Rosa, the Museum welcomes over 15,000 visitors per year through general admission, tours, school programs, public programs, and special events. The Museum also maintains a permanent collection of over 18,000 objects that document the region's rich history and celebrate local artists.

Petaluma Historical Museum Creative Sonoma Grantee, History/Heritage, Holidays Shop Local, Library, Museum, Museum and Gallery Memberships Preserving the Unique History of Petaluma and Providing Educational and Cultural Services to the Community. The former Carnegie library now houses Petaluma poultry, dairy, and Miwok Indian history exhibits from the 1850s. The cornerstone for this stately Carnegie Library was laid in 1904. The building, designed by local architect Brainerd Jones and built from locally quarried stone, features the largest free-standing leaded glass dome in Northern California. The building is in the neo-classical style, featuring original fan-glass windows, round leaded-glass windows, also original interior wood paneling and columns. It also houses a fine research library.

SRAC sponsors art shows, live music concerts, benefits, classes and much more.

SVMA serves the Sonoma Valley region and a wide range of visitors from, primarily, the Bay Area, but also from across the nation and the globe. Founded in 1998, SVMA is the region’s only modern and contemporary art museum providing arts and humanities interpretive programming and experiences. SVMA’s steady growth confirms the strong need and desire for its presence and service to the community and field. In addition to presenting art and culture from across the nation and, at times, from around the world, the Museum annually presents at least one exhibition with a broad depth and range of interpretive programming that highlights the distinct, influential, cultural and artistic heritage of California. With a modest seven full-time and two part-time staff, over 75 volunteers, and an engaged board of directors, SVMA produces model arts and humanities education along with highly respected exhibitions, inspiring cultural conversations that stimulate critical thinking and discussion surrounding contemporary issues of our day. Through its education efforts, SVMA provides free arts education for 4th- and 5th-graders in all Sonoma Valley schools (700-750 students) and averages hosting 75 public programs annually—a great feat for a small staff. SVMA’s library serves as an arts public reference source with a collection of over 2,500 art, architecture, and design books available to scholars and the public. SVMA also works with the Sonoma local government to spearhead activities that explore the art and heritage of the area, including the popular Sonoma Art Walk and public art exhibitions in Sonoma Plaza which, pre-COVID19, engage over 1,000 visitors a day in summer and fall months.

The California Indian Museum And Cultural Center Adult Arts Education, Education, Festivals/Markets, Film/Video, History/Heritage, Holidays Shop Local, Museum, Museum and Gallery Memberships, Nonprofit, Special Events, Youth Arts Education The purpose of the California Indian Museum and Cultural Center is to culturally enrich and benefit the people of California and the general public. The goals of the Museum and Cultural Center are to educate the public about California Indian history and cultures, to showcase California Indian cultures, to enhance and facilitate these cultures and traditions through educational and cultural activities, to preserve and protect California Indian cultural and intellectual properties, and to develop relationships with other indigenous groups and other traditional and ecological advocates.
