Chalkboard Players Education, Kids/Family, Nonprofit, Performing Arts, School Child Parent Institute’s Chalkboard Players provide quality creative arts experiences for children and youth in Sonoma County. In addition to providing their expertise in a variety of art forms, Chalkboard Players are trained in the lasting impacts of childhood and community trauma, the challenges faced by many young people, and techniques and tools for creating a safe, inclusive environment while engaging students in the processes of discovery, creation, and collaboration. We design creative arts residencies to address the needs – especially those emerging from childhood or community trauma – of students and school or group environments. We build curricula around the goals of each site, with the flexibility to integrate specific topics, art forms, class subjects, and/or common core standards. Group sizes are flexible, as our teaching artists are available individually, or in teams of two to three. Chalkboard Players artists residencies: • help provide tools to address the impacts of trauma, fear, and stress on our mind and bodies • help grow students’ social and emotional skills, while boosting self-esteem and positive self-expression • deepen students’ understanding of themselves and each other • demonstrate fun, simple activities that students and staff can adapt and integrate in the classroom or at home.

Child Parent Institute Education, Kids/Family, Music, Nonprofit, Nonprofit Services, Performing Arts, School, Special Events, Theatre, Visual Arts Child Parent Institute’s Creative Arts programs provide high quality arts experiences for underserved children, youth, and families throughout Sonoma County. Our Creative Arts programs include an array of therapeutic, expressive, educational, and recreational activities and events in the areas of visual arts, theatre, music, movement, and more. These programs and activities are designed to strengthen social and emotional skills, boost self-esteem, and provide critical tools that yield lifelong benefits for participants. The Creative Arts team provides after-school groups, summer camps, in-school performances and workshops, family engagement activities, and community outreach and education. Many of our participants have been impacted by challenging experiences early in life, including toxic stress, special needs, and trauma. CPI’s Creative Arts team, in addition to contributing their professional artistic skills and expertise, are trained in trauma-informed care, strengths-based practice, and building protective factors that strengthen families and communities.

I work with students in K-8, as well as adults. I have an extensive background in dance and the performing arts, I am a certified yoga instructor, a substitute teacher, a PCS art docent. My mission is for all my students/clients to walk away feeling creative, empowered and emboldened to show up in life as themselves. With these basic human attributes ingrained into the youth of our communities, enlightenment is assured for our future. Our mission here at the LDEI is to fill the education gap created by the mainstream. Our vision is to see every child learn to appreciate their self-worth, resilience and power. Social emotional skills gained from our program are self-confidence, teamwork, and perseverance. Success of the program will be measured in three ways; by the obvious joy in the children's minds and hearts and the culminating event produced, and an online anonymous survey students and parents can fill out to give feedback. Historically after school programs focused on either just physical content or on academic content, here at LDEI, we understand children are multifaceted and deserve to have every aspect of their being served. Our program broadens children's horizons by teaching them…to keep going when its hard and that's when things pay off. Our program develops character by having students work closely together, building an interdependence that shows working on the same goal moves all forward. Building much needed community awareness. Bringing the world together through music, dance, art and cultural exchange. Our purpose is to provide musical instruments of the world to the public, and to promote all teachers, students, artists, enthusiasts and performers regardless of age, ability, gender, race, ethnicity, religious or sexual orientation.

Core Programs and Services:

The Musical Instrument Library has two core services: Lending of musical instruments and providing a venue for musicians, dancers, artists, and children to study, cultivate, teach, and perform.

The Musical Instrument Library strives to represent the world through music, art, and dance. We provide a safe space where everyone has access to musical instruments, education, dance, and art- especially to those who would usually not have the opportunity. It is our goal to appreciate and hold sacred the rich, musical cultures of the world, highlighting and uplifting artists from the cultures and places of origin and providing them with a platform, stage, classroom, instruments and other resources with which to cultivate and share their art. The Musical Instrument Library provides free and sliding scale services in order to make these things more accessible to those who are faced with bias, oppression, institutionalized racism, and economic hardship. By providing a platform for this education, we can combat ignorance and promote understanding and respect for all human beings.

North Bay Makers/180 Studios Corporation, Decorative Arts, Education, Fine Crafts, Media, Nonprofit, Product/Industrial Design, School, Special Events, Visual Arts 180 Studios, a 13,000 square foot, makerspace located in Santa Rosa, CA., is designed to provide a dynamic environment for multigenerational collaboration that supports the teaching, learning, and practicing of Industrial Arts, Creative Arts, Engineering, and Design. A variety of professionally taught workshops, and volunteer mentors, encourage skill development, discovery, and the creative process. Flexible use studio space is available for modest rent, to individuals pursuing more intense projects of their choosing and/or business development. Periodic community events offer enticing opportunities for “hands-on” experiences, art shows, and more. Professional equipment and technology, such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and more, provide individual makers access to high-end tools not otherwise affordable. Santa Rosa Dance Theater Dance, School Santa Rosa Dance Theater is the premier dance studio in Sonoma County for classical ballet instruction since 2005. We welcome all ages, from tiny dancers and advanced students to adult students, inspiring each one to envision a future in dance. We are pleased to offer the level of ballet instruction required for students who aspire to dance professionally. Santa Rosa Dance Theater annually presents the holiday classic, "The Nutcracker". Sonoma Academy Gallery Guidelines

We look for original artwork that takes an innovative approach and shows a sophisticated execution. Chosen artists should enhance the arts curriculum. Established and emerging artists interested in showing are encouraged to look over the guidelines on our website. Shows are generally up for two months unless another arrangement has been made between the artist and the school. We provide a stipend of $120 for a lecture or class demo.

Artists are responsible for hanging and taking down their own shows.

The school takes no commission for any work sold.

Sonoma Ceramics Art Gallery, Education, Fine Crafts, Kids/Family, School, Visual Arts The Sonoma Community Center's Ceramics Studio was established in 1999 as an educational space dedicated to the promotion and development of the ceramic arts and the work of clay artists. The mission of the studio is to provide a unique learning environment for diverse audiences to experience the ceramic arts. We are Sonoma Valley's leading ceramic studio, supporting the arts through our all-inclusive Artist in Residency program, gallery, studio sales, classes, workshops, and Open Studio. We gear our artistic programs to all levels of interest, proficiency, and financial means. Our educational and artistic programming continues to be essential to our goal of expanding and promoting the ceramic arts to the community. The Artist in Residence is integrated into the studio community, working alongside our members and students while teaching a variety of classes to the public. Who can use our studio? Anyone can use our studio and we have Intro classes as well as upper level classes that you can grow with as your skills advance. Our Mission & Vision

Sonoma Conservatory of Dance fosters curiosity, creativity, joy and compassion, through the art and discipline of dance in a learning environment that ignites the creative spirit.

Our Story:

Originally Founded as Sonoma Ballet Conservatory in 1970, Patricia O’Reilly reenvisioned the studio as Sonoma Conservatory of Dance in 2005 after 12 years of directing the Vallejo Ballet Conservatory, which she had founded in 1993. Under the Artistic Direction of Ms. O’Reilly, SCD continues to offer the very highest quality classical ballet and dance instruction to youth and adults.

In 2016, Sonoma Conservatory of Dance transitioned into a public benefit corporation to better serve the community of Sonoma and to more effectively fulfill its mission of providing the youth (and adults) of Sonoma Valley and beyond an opportunity to grow artistically and technically through participation in our classes and productions.

As a nonprofit, we are able to serve as many students as possible regardless of financial circumstances. Our students grow as they train together under the mentorship of an excellent artistic staff who create an outstanding classroom environment as well as high-quality performances that we share with the public, thereby enhancing each student’s sense of self-mastery.

We expose students and audiences to a mix of culture through music, and dance and our full-length productions offer a blend of classical ballet with other cultural themes. Through our performances, we provide the community with an opportunity to gather together and enjoy an inspiring, enchanting event.

The studio’s students have been accepted into the most prestigious dance programs both locally, nationally and internationally, including: American Ballet Theatre, Joffrey Ballet, Kaatsbaan Extreme Ballet, and Royal Ballet School of Antwerp.

Other Notable Programs Include:

Boston BalletLINES Ballet, Colorado Ballet, North Carolina Dance Theatre, Orlando Ballet, Ballet West, Nutmeg Conservatory of the Arts, The Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Dance, Marymount Manhattan College Dance Department, and The Royal Ballet School of London.

To date, SCD students have competed in the Genée International Ballet Competition, Youth America Grand Prix and the RAD Dance Challenge.
