A 1982 graduate of the University of Michigan, with master’s degrees in both architecture and urban planning, Sharon has 30 years of design and architecture experience. With her  Manhattan-based firm, Sharon Kovalsky Associates, she has worked on a wide variety of residential and commercial projects, from apartment renovations to restaurant and office design.

In 2013, Sharon created AplosGroup, a Marin County-based firm offering complete architectural design services. Her aesthetic focuses on respecting the natural environment and incorporating its beauty and simplicity into her work, always keeping her clients’ needs at the center of design.

As a specialist in green design and modern architecture, Sharon has a deep understanding of the design opportunities and challenges these present, and works with other area specialists to source authentic yet efficient materials that respect the integrity of these architectural jewels.

Sharon has taught architecture and interior design at several design schools, including the Pratt Institute, the Fashion Institute of Technology, and the New York Institute of Technology.
