R Honey Pots is the business name for Liz Russell, a functional potter and beekeeper in Forestville.

When I’m not out capturing swarms or extracting hives from unwanted locations, I make tiles, mugs, bowls, platters, light fixtures and more.  I use the sgraffito technique of carving through black slip to make a wood block-like effect. Themes I explore in my work include pollinators, marine life (in particular the deep sea), mushrooms and local, endangered and bizarre creatures of every sort.  I live and work to explore curiosity.

I am a Sonoma County native, but I have spent an educational exchange in Ghana, studied beekeeping with Peace Corps in Paraguay, taught English in Chile and love to travel and examine the unknown.
