My journey with encaustic medium started in 2010 when I participated in a workshop with Kathleen McCallum at a local art store.

Since that time, I have taken a class at the Mendocino Art Center with Mira White and an encaustic mono printing class with Rae Miller in San Miguel Allende, Mexico. The mono printing class in Mexico changed my focus from traditional hard-surface encaustic painting to what I do now which is what I call, Digital Encaustic.
What I do, simply put, is paint with a wax medium specifically to photograph. The subject can be a dry, cool encaustic piece but more often than not, the piece is molten on the hot plate when I photograph it. I also use much more than wax in my creations.
