Artstart provides job training in the arts for Sonoma County youth while creating public art.
We offer month-long paid art apprenticeships in which young artists ages 14 to 21 are mentored by professional artists to work on commissioned projects including murals, mosaics, park benches and more. Apprentices gain work experience in professional public art practice and learn transferable job skills while beautifying their community. Long term paid internships are also available through our partnership with Petaluma People’s Services.

The other team will be creating a prototype for a glass mosaic peace pole that is being created in partnership with Laguna High School. This peace pole is the first in a series we are aiming to create with other local schools, including Amarosa Academy and Elise Allen High School.
