iAspire

Program description

iAspire is an ongoing professional learning program in arts integration that empowers elementary teachers to teach the arts with confidence within the framework of their ELA curriculum. iAspire begins with idea that every teacher is an artist and builds arts skills through interactive experiences centered in California’s visual and performing arts standards. The professional learning is supported by a comprehensive arts integration curriculum for grades TK-6. iAspire draws on the collaborative expertise of arts integration lead teachers and the Arts Education Alliance to offer arts integration professional learning that is joyful, timely and professional.

Begun in collaboration with Windsor Unified in 2019, iAspire expanded in 2020 to include three additional Sonoma County school districts. Although individual teachers are welcome, iAspire professional learning is most powerful for teams of teachers at schools that are moving to support arts integration pedagogy. iAspire is adaptable for face-to-face, virtual or hybrid learning based on distance learning safety requirements.

Planning for iAspire 2021 is underway, and this listing will be updated with relevant details.
