Every aspect of the Imaginists’ education programming is designed to encourage creative freedom, collaboration, and to empower the individual voice. Students learn acting, voice, movement, writing, and devising original theatre. Our programs connect students, teachers, schools, and communities with artists through long-term relationships that invest in Santa Rosa’s youth. We focus on bridging the arts equity gap by providing high quality arts experiences to students from Title One schools, mentoring aspiring artists, and offering paid internships. We provide bilingual (Spanish and English) theater residencies on site at local partner elementary & middle schools.

The Imaginists’ Internship Cohort is a cohort of young people (ages 18-24) who work with the Imaginists over a five month period. Interns participate in workshops, create and produce a collaborative project, and volunteer in select administrative, programming, or technical areas based on interest. Interns receive training in the arts, contribute to their community, and develop a strong resume of skills and experience. The program provides opportunities for performing and creating, connection with peers, and learning about the intersection of socially engaged art and community. We choose between five to ten interns per year. Each intern receives an honorarium upon completion of the program. The Imaginists also provide letters of recommendation for college and work applications as part of the program.
