Virtual Introductory Landscape Painting Class with Martín Zúñiga

In this 90-minute lesson, Martín will cover perspective, gesture, and contour, among other topics, while leading students through the steps of creating a landscape painting of their own.

This free class is open to all, but is best suited for teens and adults with beginning to intermediate level painting experience.

Martín Zúñiga is a Teaching Artist with the Museum of Sonoma County’s Art4Kids program and is involved with various art programs around the county. He has a passion for community focused art projects, primarily working in metal sculpture and mural art. Currently Martín is working on the Medicine Wall Mural at the Los Guilicos Shelter Village in Santa Rosa. His sculptures have been featured in the Museum of Sonoma County’s annual Día de Los Muertos exhibition.  Before moving to Sonoma County over 5 years a go, Martín mentored youth as part of Urban Arts Collaborative in Salinas and the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts in San Francisco.

Suggested Supplies: 
• Acrylic paint in primary colors (red, yellow, blue, black, white)
• Primed canvas (size 16x20 recommended, stretched, board, or panel ok)
• Cup of water
• 4 Paint brushes
 (1 should be 2 inches wide + 3 others in smaller sizes)
• Pencil for sketching
• Landscape photo to paint from (optional)
• Rag for clean-up
