Let's Draw the Landscape! - A Free Virtual Children's Pencil Drawing Series with Sandra Novia

Presented by Museum of Sonoma County at Museum of Sonoma County

Join Museum of Sonoma County Teaching Artist Sandra Novia for a series of simple 30-minute landscape inspired drawings lessons. The series will culminate in an hour-long lesson, during which students will combine what they have learned about shape, texture, and perspective, to create a more complex landscape scene.

This free series of lessons is open to all; recommended for families with children ages 7-10. Participants are encouraged, but not required, to attend each day of the series.

Sandra Novia recently joined the Museum of Sonoma County as a Teaching Artist, but has been teaching art for the Sonoma State University Excel program, Sonoma County public schools, art centers, and libraries for many years. In addition to teaching, she also creates commercial and fine artwork. An East Coast native, she received her formal education in Boston, the south of France, and San Francisco focusing on design, drawing, and sculpture.

Supplies Needed:

Pencil (any pencil you have can work, but we suggest a drawing pencil in B, 2B, or 4B)
Paper (almost any paper you have will work, but we suggest a 9x12\" drawing pad)
An eraser (the one attached to the end of your pencil works just fine)

Pre-registration for this free virtual class is required.
