Rebel Rebel...Exploring the Art and Spirit of Rock & Roll, LIVE Songwriting Intensive Camp for Teens

Presented by Sonoma Valley Museum of Art at Sonoma Valley Museum of Art

Rebel Rebel... Exploring the Art and Spirit of Rock & Roll (July 13th-17th, 12-Teen)

Instructor: Zak Fennie, Singer/Songwriter (http://zakfennie.com/)

Explore the elements of songwriting and composition! You'll also learn about Rock & Roll history and the influence it still has on modern music. This camp is for teens who come from all musical backgrounds. Songwriting will be done in a group environment so if you don't have any musical experience, that's totally fine. At the end of the program, we will be recording your original songs, so you'll have a digital memento to take home with you. Safety is our number one priority and we will be following appropriate CDC guidelines to make sure our campers and staff are made safe and healthy during this experience.

Included with your camp tuition:
● In-person instruction 9-11am Mon-Fri, before the Museum is opened to the public.
● Opportunity to bring a bag lunch and have lunch in the square with fellow students and instructor from 11am-12pm
● Optional one-on-one mentorship via Zoom in the afternoons. Once you have registered, please contact the education coordinator to make your appointments. All one-on-one Zoom appointments will be recorded and an administrator will be checking in, but we assume adult supervision at home as well.
● Free access to SVMA’s Summer Online Photography Class
● 4 passes to visit the Museum to share the exhibit with your family.
● A digital video compilation of student’s songs after the week is over.
Here are some steps that we will be taking together to make your child’s camp experience as safe and comfortable as possible:
● Do not bring your child to camp if anyone in your household feels sick, has a temperature over 100 degrees, or has recently been around someone who is sick. All staff and students will be screened daily with a digital thermometer.
● Face coverings or masks will be required of all students, instructors, and staff while in the Museum. As required by state law, all students and staff will continue to wear masks once outside of the Museum during camp hours, except when eating. Disposable masks will be available for those who need one.
● Hand sanitizers will be readily available throughout the Museum, and we have installed no-touch soap dispensers in the restrooms. Instructor will carry sanitizing supplies when leaving the Museum for lunch or for any outside activities.
● Please prepare your student to observe social distancing. That means maintaining 6 ft of spacing both in and outside of the Museum.
● SVMA will be disinfecting frequently touched surfaces regularly and we are cleaning the Museum daily.
● Please contact us with any questions, concerns, or updates you may have.
