DEEDS: Art as Action

Independence Day through Election Night 2020

On August 8th (2:00 pm to 5:00 pm) the Petaluma Arts Center is unveiling ‘Get Out and Vote’, a campaign featuring eight commissioned artworks to be displayed publicly on the outer walls of Petaluma Arts Center intended to be a creative catalyst for get out the vote mobilizations, with a socially distanced opening.

The eight artworks have been created by Alynn + Mags, Maxfield Bala, Jack Haye, Lukas & Scott Hess, The Kindness Committee co-founders, Pocho Sanchez, Bud Snow and Kathryn St. Clair. The collection will be available for purchase on demand as postcards, posters, lawn signs, t-shirts and masks. Proceeds will support ongoing programming at the Petaluma Arts Center.

The campaign creates access to local and national voter resources and makes it easy to find  tangible get out the vote mobilizations by partnering with local efforts. This campaign is a component of ‘DEEDS : Art as Action’, inspired by the Suffragist motto “Deeds not Words”; it launched on July 4th, a multifaceted program intended to activate and inspire all who participate with the underlying call to action of getting out the vote in November.
