Introduction to Nature Journaling

Introduction to Nature Journaling

Presented by Sugarloaf Ridge State Park at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park

Nature journaling helps you enjoy the natural world in a whole new way. You can take just a short hike, or even stay in one place, and see, hear, smell and touch more than you ever thought possible. Using words, numbers and drawings, you will learn to record your experiences in a way that works for YOU. There are no rules, but you’ll learn some tips to get you started. NO art “ability” necessary!
After an introduction to materials and methods, we will explore around the group camp and start recording and sharing our observations. Back at the group camp, you will get a chance to try out some watercolor, colored pencils, watercolor pencils and drawing pencils.
This event is welcome to all, and accessible for those with limited mobility. Meet at the group camp parking area. You are welcome to bring any art supplies that you have, but just a pencil and notebook will do.
Tickets are $15 general, half price for students, youth (12-17 years old), Sugarloaf members, Sugarloaf volunteers, and free for under 12. Bring water, sun protection, a snack, and if desired, bring a picnic to enjoy afterwards. A $10 parking fee is applicable.
