The Napa Valley Museum Yountville is looking for a reliable and responsible Gallery Attendant to staff the Museum’s front desk Wednesdays through Sundays from 11 to 4 pm. This individual will serve as the friendly face of the Museum to its Members, Volunteers and Visitors, helping to create and maintain a happy, safe and secure Museum environment.

Duties include, but are not limited to, providing a visitor friendly atmosphere; monitoring artwork and museum areas to ensure safety and security; monitoring alarm systems; dispersing and collecting audio tour equipment; signing in volunteers, answering telephones; logging lost and found; assisting the Facilities Manager in securing the museum and parking lot as needed; and other duties as assigned. The Attendant will ring up gift shop sales, and assist Museum staff in performing inventories and restocking of store shelves.

The Gallery Attendant will be required to walk and move about work location on foot, and work will include periods of standing, sitting, and use of stairs as needed. May be required to lift and/or move items of moderate weight. General work hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm. Additional hours may be available dependent on the times and dates of scheduled programs and events. Ability to work weekends is required.
Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent work experience. Previous museum, art or education experience, Spanish language and College study is a plus. Candidates must have strong customer service & communication skills, should be proficient with computers and cash registers, and possess excellent organizational skills.
