The City of Santa Rosa Public Art Program, in conjunction with the National Arts Program, is proud to announce the 17th annual National Arts Program Exhibition and Competition in Santa Rosa.

This program provides local artists of all ages with a forum to showcase their artistic accomplishments and encourages artistic growth through scholarships and awards.

This Call for Artists is open to all City of Santa Rosa residents, City employees and relatives of City employees. Registration ends January 10, 2020; we strongly encourage early registration since it is limited to the first 200 entries.

New this year! All registration will be online. You can apply directly online at  www.nationalartsprogram.org/santarosa. Additionally, informational brochures are available at Finley or Steele Lane Community Centers and City Hall.

There is no fee to enter and artists of all ages, backgrounds and levels of experience are encouraged to participate. Prizes this year will include art supply gift certificates and cash awards (totaling $3,450) to be awarded by age and classifications.

Awards to be Distributed:

Professional-

1st place - $350

2nd place - $250

3rd place - $150

Intermediate-

1st place - $350

2nd place - $250

3rd place - $150

Amateur-

1st place - $350

2nd place - $250

3rd place - $150

Teen (13-18)-

1st place - $150

2nd place - $100

3rd place - $50

Youth (12 & Under)-

1st place - $150

2nd place - $100

3rd place - $50

In addition, a Best of Show award of $400 and a Continuing Art Education scholarship award valued at $200 will be presented. Every artist will receive a certificate of participation.

The exhibition will take place February 3 – March 27, 2020, at the Finley Community Center, with an Awards Ceremony and Reception on Sunday, March 8, from 3 - 5pm. Finley Community Center is located at 2060 W. College Avenue in Santa Rosa. Hours are Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 6:00PM. The National Arts Program was established in 1985 by The National Arts Foundation to inspire, acknowledge and reward creative accomplishments throughout the nation. The program began as a pilot project in Philadelphia and has extended nationally to include over 90 exhibitions in more than 30 states. The concept of The National Arts Program is to provide an uninhibited opportunity for all people to present their talents, at whatever level, in a public exhibition, free to artists and the public.
