Calling All Northern California Playwrights!

Pegasus Theater Company welcomes your submissions for its annual Tapas New Short Play Festival, now in its 14th year. Tapas' enthusiastic reception by our audiences to seeing 7 short plays in one evening's performance is due to the high quality of the plays we receive from you.

Please remember that we need minimalist sets for each play and, in fact, literally use black boxes that can quickly be moved around between plays.

We’ll be selecting 7 plays for full production in mid-September 2020.

All plays submitted must:

Be 10 minutes or under (assume one minute per standard script-style page)
Be unpublished and have never been produced in Sonoma County
Be written by a playwright from Northern California
Contain no more than 5 characters
Be suitable for production on a small stage using black stage boxes
Keep technical effects to a minimum
Be in a PDF format and sent to tapas2020@pegasustheater.com
Be received by midnight on April 1, 2020

We will announce the winning plays by June 1.

Each playwright may submit no more than 2 plays per season.

Any questions concerning submissions may be sent to tapas2020@pegasustheater.com

Pegasus Theater's annual play-writing workshop will take place February 15 and 22, from 10 to noon, in the dining room of the Russian River Senior Center. Contact Scott Kersnar at 707-869-0136 or wskersnar@gmail.com for further information.

This year's workshop will require participants to do some preliminary work on a play prior to the workshop--whether that be writing a new script or revising an old one.
