Free professional development in arts integration is available for Petaluma educators in mid-late September via Zoom. The goal will be to help TK-3rd grade teachers and administrators connect math curriculum with music and movement.

Art integration specialist, Janet Greene, will share music and creative movement activities which teach specific math skills and concepts. Janet will then collaborate with all the teachers individually to design arts-integrated activities that meet both math and arts standards. Participants will learn to write math lessons that lead to creative thinking and strengthen social emotional skills. This approach to learning increases positive engagement and creates deeper understanding of the math concepts by students.

At a glance-

-Enrollment is open to all TK-3 public school teachers, teaching specialists and administrators in the Petaluma area

-Approximately 3 Zoom sessions (1 hr. each)

-Math lessons customized for each teacher

-Each school is guaranteed free training for 1 administrator and 3 teachers. Additional staff members at each site will be placed on a waiting list

-Schools can register additional staff members for $40 each

-Registrations are taken in the order they are submitted
