MUSIC EDUCATION Prof Development- Introduction to Orff and Classroom Applications

 Statewide, CA, Unknown

Introduction to Orff and Classroom Applications, taught by Sonoma County music educator, Janet Greene, is offered through the San Francisco International Orff Course and creates an exciting collaboration between new and experienced music, dance and classroom teachers. It provides a foundation in the Orff Schulwerk and offers unique insights and strategies to bring music and dance into the lives of children. The course from July 26-30 takes place at Hidden Valley Music Seminars in beautiful Carmel Valley.

Participants will:
Explore the Orff approach through singing, music games and stories, creative movement and folk dance, rhythmic speech and body percussion, and experiences with Orff and percussion instruments.
Create new ways of integrating music and dance into the NGSS science, and Core math, ESL, and language disciplines. The course will be of equal value to those seeking an introduction to Orff
