Job Description / Essential Elements

Position: .5 FTE Art Teacher for Grades Tk-8 at The REACH School, an Independent Charter School in Sebastopol, California

Requirement:

Appropriate Teaching Credential or ability to obtain credential.

What REACH is like: Teachers at The REACH School provide a PBL classroom to our students to facilitate problem solving in multiple learning areas such as math, science, history, art, technology and culture using common core standards. Teachers embrace a collaborative team approach so that content and process across grades is consistent. The REACH School teaches and models Positive Discipline. Classrooms at REACH include teacher directed day and overnight field trips. The REACH School has active and supportive parent groups that participate in multiple volunteer efforts. We welcome applications of credentialed teachers who embrace a team approach, creative and ongoing curriculum development and a willingness to become involved in the culture of The REACH School.

Qualifications:

Commitment to PBL and Social Emotional Learning and ongoing professional development in PBL and SEL Driven by a student-centered, community oriented model of education. Effective classroom management. Collaboration skills.
