CURRENT PROGRAMS
COVID-19 Arts Relief Grants for Organizations
This grant program has been established as a partnership between Community Foundation Sonoma County (CFSC) and Creative Sonoma, to provide relief to Sonoma County nonprofit arts organizations that have sustained economic losses as a result of COVID-19 and the related business and community restrictions. The first round is for current and recent nonprofit 501(c)(3) grantees of either CFSC or Creative Sonoma that provide arts education or youth programs, and the subsequent rounds are open to all Sonoma County nonprofit arts organizations.
- FIRST ROUND CLOSED: This grant application opened May 11, 2020 and closed May 26, 2020.
- SECOND ROUND CLOSED: This grant application opened July 1, 2020 and closed July 15, 2020.
- THIRD ROUND CLOSED: This grant application opened March 2, 2021 and closed April 6, 2021.

Recovery Fund Grants for 2020 Fire Personal Physical Loss
Provides funding to Sonoma County creatives that sustained physical loss or damage to personal property due to the 2020 LNU Complex (Walbridge-Meyers) or Glass Fires.
- CLOSED: This grant application opened on December 1, 2020 and closed on January 3, 2021.
Recovery Fund Grants for 2019 Flood or Fire Personal Physical Loss
Provides funding to Sonoma County creatives that sustained physical loss or damage to personal property due to the February 2019 Russian River & Laguna de Santa Rosa Flood or the October 2019 Kincade Fire.
- CLOSED: This grant application opened on February 3, 2020 and closed on April 5, 2020.
Teaching Artist Residencies
Creative Sonoma is offering free teaching artist residencies that utilize the arts to foster youth resiliency through 2019. These residencies are offered to Sonoma County K-12 public schools and are granted through an application process on a first-come, first-served basis. The second and third round of the residencies are made possible by funding from the Sonoma County Office of Education.
- FIRST ROUND CLOSED: The application opened April 23, 2018 and closed on September 24, 2018.
- SECOND ROUND CLOSED: The application opened in January 2019 and closed in April 2019.
- THIRD ROUND CLOSED: The application opened on August 1, 2019 and closed on September 27, 2019.
Individual Professional Advancement Grants
Provides competitive grants to creatives who experienced physical loss or damage to personal property as a result of the 2017 Wildfires, and who are in need of assistance to re-launch their careers or to produce new artwork. This grant program is made possible in part by the California Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
- CLOSED: This grant application opened on November 2, 2018 and closed on December 14, 2018.
Recovery Fund Grants for 2017 Fire Physical Loss
Provides quick grants on a rolling basis to Sonoma County individual creatives, arts administrators, and creative businesses and organizations that sustained physical losses and damage as a result of the 2017 Wildfires.
- CLOSED: The grant application opened November 1, 2017 and closed on October 31, 2018.
Recovery Fund Grants for 2017 Fire Economic Loss
Provides grants to Sonoma County individual creatives, arts administrators, and creative businesses and organizations that sustained economic loss (but not physical loss) as a result of the 2017 Wildfires.
- CLOSED: The grant application opened February 1, 2018 and closed on April 2, 2018.
Arts Response Grants for Organizations
This grant is a one-time funding opportunity for nonprofit arts and cultural organizations in Sonoma County to produce creative projects in response to the 2017 Wildfires.
