“Parent Ambassadors for Arts” Makes A Bold Start!

The AEA’s Advocacy Team hosted “Parent Ambassadors for Arts” to connect parents across the county with opportunities available through arts education. Find resources to help your school and watch this introductory meeting in English from August 31, 2021 HERE 

Join a virtual meeting hosted in Spanish on September 29, 2021 from 6:00-7:00pm. This dialogue will be facilitated by José Soto, Luther Burbank Center music director and Yuliana Camarena, La Luz early childhood manager. Learn more HERE.

Continue the Parent Ambassador conversation! Join us on November 10 from 7:00-8:00pm to learn next steps in arts education advocacy. This session will include creating an elevator pitch for your school community. Learn more HERE.

National Arts in Education Week – September 12-18 2021

Activate your voice and support arts education for all students. As mandated by California education code, arts are an essential part of a child’s education. Share the impact that an education in and through the arts can make.

#BacktoSchool Spotlight: Using Creativity

The arts play a crucial role for students and educators, especially in addressing healing and trauma. Obstacles to access need to be reduced. Convene with other arts education advocates at Arts Education Partners Virtual Gathering to explore solutions.

Using Drawings for Formative Assessment

Encouraging students to draw provides a higher level means for students to demonstrate understanding. Teachers themselves can use simple drawing techniques to offer instruction in a different mode of thinking, while at the same time, giving students a more sophisticated, deeper way to consider and use the knowledge.
