This is a five week class, meeting on Saturdays in March (Mar 2, 9, 16, 23, 30) from 1-4 pm.
Tunnel books are made of layers of cut paper that compose a three dimensional composition - often used to tell a story.
In this course, participants will learn the foundations of paper cutting through the process of creating one of these magical paper sculptures. Participants will explore the work of artists who have created masterful works in this medium, then develop their own design to execute over the course of the 5 sessions.
All materials provided: an exacto knife, extra blades, bristol paper, cutting mat, and ruler. Participants are welcome to integrate other mediums, such as watercolor or pastel, into their tunnel book, some of which will be available through the studios.
This course is suitable for artists who have a strong foundation in drawing and composition, and are looking to challenge themselves. Participants must have strong enough fine motor abilities to handle a sharp blade safely.
$350 for 5 sessions (18 hours of instruction) and all necessary materials
