About Cazadero Music Camp: www.cazadero.org

Cazadero Music Camp is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to bring the love of music and learning to youth. We provide a nurturing, inspirational environment for young musicians ages 10-18. For more than 60 years, Cazadero has offered a dynamic program that strikes a thoughtful balance between in-depth music education and carefree camp fun.

Cazadero serves over 1,400 youth during a typical year through two complementary music programs: Our sleep-away Summer Music Camp welcomes musicians of various abilities, providing challenges and opportunities for artistic growth at many levels. While the focus is music, Cazadero is an all-around camp experience with sporting and other activities to balance the artistic commitment. Participants enjoy rehearsing, sleeping, and playing outdoors. JumpStart in Music is a low-cost, high-impact, condensed version of our Summer Music Camp, bringing Bay Area public school students, along with their music teachers, to Cazadero for a 3-day music immersion program during the school year.

Camp Location: 5000 Austin Creek Road, Cazadero, CA 95421. Our rustic campsite is situated in the redwood forests of Western Sonoma County, 20 minutes East of the coast and West of Guerneville.

Overview of the Role: As a member of a small year-round staff, the Music Camp Director will report to the Board of Directors and be a thoughtful, creative, and charismatic leader. This position is responsible for developing and implementing music programs, overseeing the safe management of facilities, camp staff and guest conductor development and management, implementing other events onsite (ie. rental groups and volunteer work weekends), and related administrative duties.

Schedule Requirements: Candidates must have the ability to live at camp full time for at least 8 weeks during summer camp program delivery, approximately mid-June through early-August, and oversee other programs and subleases which occur April through June and August through October. Off-season hours vary and can be performed remotely.

Cazadero Music Camp offers a competitive salary range commensurate with experience.
