I am a teacher and artist living in Petaluma, CA. I have taught in Petaluma Schools for the past 23 years.
Prior to that, I was a furniture design coordinator and a visual merchandising manager for Macy’s California. I have a BA in Art from San Jose State University and a teaching credential from Dominican University (San Rafael). My passion is to bring visual arts into the classroom. I used integrated strategies in my classroom in all subject areas – ELA, math, science, history, and, of course, fine art. I incorporated VTS (Visual Thinking Strategies) throughout my curriculum, as well.
Recently, I painted a piano for the Friends of Petaluma River Project (Petaluma Pete). my most recent work includes portraits of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Alexandria Ocasio Cortes, and Greta Thunberg. My still life paintings have been on display at the Petaluma Arts Center, Aqus Cafe, and Studio Gallery, in San Francisco.
