Two former teachers, Lisa Damico* and Gena Richman**,  now “re-wired” (for those of us who can’t quite be wholly “retried’), bring to you professional development integrating Social Emotional Learning and the Arts. As credentialed elementary classroom teachers in the public school system for a collective 50 years, we know first hand how important it is for students to be “present” for learning to occur. Our PD is a “make and take” that walks you through lessons to use at the beginning of the year as well as throughout the year. Taking the pulse of students social emotional being is honored and supported with the lessons we give you and the questions you ask! Our PD is most suitable for early to upper elementary, but adaptive to older students in self-contained classrooms. Professional development fees on a sliding scale. Contact us for more information. We also offer after school arts instruction in printmaking. Our 6 week session includes materials and a gallery walk at the end! This is a very popular program for students 1st-8th grades. We have historically provided after-school sessions at Mary Collins School at Cherry Valley, Petaluma, but have done multiple in-school artists-in-residence sessions in Sonoma, Santa Rosa and Petaluma. Although retired, we still love teaching and learning with big people and little people! *Lisa received her BA in Child Development, a Minor in Fine Arts and went on to receive a K-12 teaching credential with a supplemental credential in Art. She provided professional development to California teachers and presented in state and national conferences through her association with the California Literature Project, integrating Visual and Performing Arts into teaching and assessing in Language Arts. Lisa retired after 30 years in the classroom and joyfully adopted a puppy.

**Gena received her B.S. in Arts, followed by a K-12 teaching credential from SSU. She provided professional development to teachers on how to integrate the Arts into Mathematics during many sessions at the California Mathematics Conference at Asilomar. Gena retired after 20 years in the classroom and joyfully plays with her young grandson.
