Chalk Hill Artist Residency is a unique opportunity for artists across mediums to work and stay at the beautiful Warnecke Ranch and Vineyard.

The program is located in Sonoma County, an hour and a half north of San Francisco. Artists from a diverse range of abilities and geographical locations are able to find the space and time needed to pursue creative work. Chalk Hill Artist Residency offers the use of the artist house, studio space, and access to the ranch property. The property's oak woodlands, hiking trails, vineyards, and private access to the Russian River are sources of inspiration for residents

Founded in 2010, Chalk Hill Residency is inspired by the vision of the late John Carl Warnecke, internationally renowned architect (1919-2010). In 1983, he laid out plans for an art colony on his 280-acre property near the town of Healdsburg, bordering the Russian River. He established a 501c3 non-profit and began a master plan for the property to fulfill his vision: that artists could live and work together in what he deemed as the most beautiful place in the world. ​

​Our community partnerships allow us to work closely with organizations that support artists with disabilities to participate in studio days at the residency. Studio days bring together our current artist in residence and artists with disabilities to spend an afternoon in the studio together. This creates a space where artists across a spectrum of ability are able to create authentic human connection through art, celebrate individual ways of artistic expression, and foster creativity. Since 2010, the studio program has proven to be nationally recognized and has been enthusiastically received by participants.

Escolar is an art and design research collective working at the intersection of regenerative agriculture and cultural production within an anti-capitalist and de-colonial framework.

We maintain a curatorial practice and an exhibition venue, a residency with production facilities and support, provide design and fabrication support for local activists and maintain a one-acre experimental farm with an emphasis on native flora.

-We produce public art exhibitions and complementary workshops, talks and symposiums.

-We foster a symbiotic relationship between cultural, agricultural and land-use practices.

-We build linkages between theoretical and material labor/ modes of work.

-We organize a space where creative work is separate from the cultural hierarchies and professional roles of global finance capital.

-We develop, explore and deepen communal understandings of regionally specific land management practices and their histories.

-We help provide local youth with access to a world class network of artists, musicians and thinkers.

-We provide educational programs to emerging artists and the public on regenerative agriculture.

In MovingWriting workshops, we play with movement/dance and written words to help us connect with our deep and creative selves, in the company of a supportive circle. Giving voice to our own stories and witnessing the stories of others brings healing, aliveness, and connection with others.

Mission Statement

New World Ballet is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide access to professional quality dance instruction and performance opportunities to students who desire to become professional dancers, as well as those who simply wish to enhance their quality of life through dance.

New World Ballet offers classes in classical ballet, contemporary ballet, hip hop, and latin dance for dancers age 4 years to adult.

We are a group of individuals just like you – community-minded individuals with an interest in preserving performing arts.

With funding for arts disappearing in our schools, the responsibility for supporting the arts lies firmly with us. When we banded together to save the historic Raven Theater in downtown Healdsburg California, we had big dreams of enhancing the lives of every community member by offering a conveniently located, eclectic array of entertainment.

The mission of the Raven Performing Arts Theater is to provide an inviting venue for performing arts and a vibrant center for community, educational, and public service activities.

Specifically,

• To provide a long-term home for community performance groups including schools, churches, clubs, and public and private organizations.
• To offer programming that encompasses a variety of professional performances including dance, acting, music, and festivals.
• To provide a learning environment for children and adults, as individuals and in groups, to learn many aspects of theater operation, production, and presentation.
